In the previous chapter, we were left hanging with suspense when we discovered that Peter was left unconscious in the peel tower, along with two of the conspirators. In this chapter, we discover that Peter was taken to an island completely isolated from other existing areas. Peter was being held hostage by one of his fellow countrymen, Sir Anthony Duncan. When Peter fully gained his conscience, he realised that he must escape. In order to do so, he injured Duncan, and swam the length of Lake Ullswater. When he reached the other end, he was met with Sir Philip’s henchmen. Peter fled, but was pursued by two of them. After a while, Peter reached the summit of the cliff, and, to escape the remaining pursuer, he pushed him off the cliff.
After that eventful incident, Peter headed towards home, where he was reunited with his family members, and with Kit. He rested for a few days, but Sir Philip ended his rest hen he arrived at the Brownrigg residence in search of Peter. Of course, Sir Philip did not believe Mr. Brownrigg’s denial, and thus he besieged the residence. Peter and Kit escaped through a miniature hole located near the barn. They decided they would warn the region’s magistrate of the danger, but they were mistaken on the magistrate’s loyalty. The magistrate, Mr. Armthwaite, was one of the conspirators. While Kit and Peter were explaining the danger, Mr. Armthwaite was about to alert Sir Philip. Fortunately, Kit determined his intentions, and they prevented any more bloodshed. They locked Mr. Armthwaite in his house, and they escaped to London, to warn the Queen.

How do you think they got Peter to the island, where he was isolated and what do you think they did to him?
I think that they took his unconscious body put it in a boat and then they sailed or paddled out to find an island far enough so he could not escape. Then when at the island they left him with a jailer and some food and water. They searched him for any armory and then removed it. They must have tied him up so that he could not do anything. Finally they must of gotten his jailer to try to get Peter to talk about his allies and his plans, giving them an advantage in their plot.
What would you do to escape from the first location, if you were Peter?
I would make a deal with my jailer to give him whatever he wanted for my freedom. If he did not agree to this, I would wait until the night and try to find something sharp to rip the string tied around my arms and legs. Then I would find something heavy to drop on my jailer’s head so that he would be rendered unconscious or dead. I would swim to the nearest inhabited island. There I could beg to them to help me. If there were none I would try to confection a barge to transport me to England, where I would try to find old friends that could help me. I would also disguise myself so that the people searching for me could not find me.
What would you do if you were being pursued by Sir Phillip and his men?
I would either hide deep below in a bush, behind a rock or inside any establishment I could find in the surroundings. I would also be extremely quiet so that I would not get caught. If I was about to be captured I would try to find something to hurt them or find a way of disguising myself. If that failed I would try to get them to go in different directions so that less of them where chasing me.
How would you react/do if you were kit and you saw Peter come in all bruised and hurt?
I would try to help him get better and stronger by treating him, with the help of his mother and possibly a doctor. After he felt better I would ask him about his journey, if they were following him here and if he had learnt anything about their plot. Then I would start to plan their rescuing the queen.

Peter wakes up in the middle of a little island in the company of Sir Duncan, the person charged with guarding Peter to see to him not escaping. He attempts a first escape, but Duncan catches him and ties his wrists and ankles together. Peter then breaks a wine bottle and uses sharp pieces of glass to get loose while Duncan is not looking. Once the prisoner is loose, he takes a big rock and hits Duncan in the head with it. He then is able to swim off the island and on to the other shore. He soon realizes that Sir Philip and five of his men are following him. He starts running but soon enough, he gets very tired because the long swim was tedious. He looses all the men but two. He runs up to the top of a hill and only one of the men follows him. Using his intelligence, he throws the man down the hill and…the man dies. The other man, still at the bottom of the hill, turns back, not wanting to die. He get back safely to Cumberland into his house where kit and Peter’s mother are waiting for Peter, thinking he is dead. He gets all cleaned up, fed and rested. In the morning, Sir Philip is at their door, looking for Peter claiming that he is a dangerous criminal who killed of his men. Peter, once again, gets away with Kit and tells her the whole story and how he heard about the Queen’s assassination. They decide that something has to be done so they go tell an agent. Before that conversation is over, Kit is able to tell that the man they are telling the secret to is involved in the plot so thy keep a pistol to his head until they are able to run away.
